{ Well, I was going to blog about Banksy, but... }
A Banksy on the Palestine/Israeli wall
Here's a bit of Banksy for you. Why don't we have something this wonderful going for us over here in the states? Oh yea, that's right...
It's because we're inhabited by twits who will believe whatever they're being fed. Right, so this is why my post has gotten derailed from a nice, decent sized post about Banksy. The government is full of fucking idiots, and all of the voters not voting for McCain (because he's a fucktard) have been derailed into voting for America's supposed savior, Mr. Change, Barack Obama. I had my concerns about him back when there was little to be known about him. That alone scared me shitless. The man has a short and iffy voting record, and he's talking up his campaign as being about change? He's his change for you...
In the past month his position on gun control, the death penalty and now having voted for the FISA, the new federal wiretapping law? It's disgusting. I had planned on voting for him in November, despite that nagging in the back of my mind, barring any horrific slip-up, but there he went. Now I can just hope that either Nader or the green party make it onto Ohio's ballot. I can console myself in an intelligent vote, election results be damned. Only, is it a consolation to know that no matter how much you try to uphold the idea that your vote is "sacred" and worth something *cough2000ELECTIONScough*, is it any true consolation to know that you are voting how our governmental system was set up to be run only to have your vote considered a "throw-away"? I honestly believe that neither McCain (who apparently doesn't know how to use the internet) nor Obama will be able to run this country without running it further into the ground. Honestly. I nearly laughed when I saw Obama's position on the Fannie May/Freddie Mac troubles. Basically he says that he doesn't know. He's going to wait and see what the government does.
Wait and see what "the government does"? Really? I must be laboring under the misconception that as a presidential candidate you're supposed to at least try to sound like you have an inkling of what "the government", which you'll soon be thrust to the top of, can do about these giant ass-reaming issues that are plastered across every newspaper headline in these states. Excepting, of course, the Dayton Daily News, my local paper, which will probably feature some heavy news reporting on the front page like Economy In Peril, Hobos Not Finding Change On Ground. And when I tell people I'm not voting for Obama, I get the most hate-filled looks to be had, as though I were personally funding the entire RNC. Look people, I'm not going to have a throw-away vote. It would be a huge throw away if I voted for such a double-talking ass-hat like Obama. Yeah, he talks purtier than Bush, but he has yet to live up to any of his "change" for America. Hell, he seems to be voting more conservative than McCain from time to time.
Banksy, I'm sorry that my tribute post to your talents have been interrupted by the shit that's going down over here. I hope to hell that the recent attempts at exposing who you are fade away fast. I'm going to find my own way of living up to the challenge your art presents for those around you. How, I don't know. But I'll find a way that I can make some real change behind all our red tape.
